Gordon Ramsay Restaurants to take over the Le Gavroche site

The operating company of the Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Group has submitted a premises license transfer application for the Le Gavroche site in London's Mayfair, aiming to take over the renowned location.

According to documents filed with Westminster Council, Union Street Café submitted an application for a premises license transfer on February 6.

Union Street Café is the trading name for Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, which also operates Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza, Gordon Ramsay Street Burger, Lucky Cat, and Bread Street Kitchen.

It was also the name of a standalone Gordon Ramsay restaurant in London’s Southwark, launched in 2013. During the pandemic, it was replaced with another Gordon Ramsay brand.

Michel Roux announced the closure of Le Gavroche in September 2023, with the restaurant serving its final meal in January 2024.

It seems that Gordon Ramsay will be returning to the site where he worked early in his career under Albert Roux.

In recent months, Ramsay has been expanding his restaurant empire, launching his most ambitious project yet in the heart of London.

Just last week, Ramsay opened two restaurants, a bar, and a cookery school at 22 Bishopsgate, the tallest building in the City of London.

The project is the focus of an upcoming Netflix documentary series, which will follow Ramsay in the lead-up to the grand opening.

Lucky Cat, the fourth location of the chef’s Asian-inspired restaurant concept, has opened on the 60th floor of the building, alongside Lucky Cat Bar. Additionally, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High, a 12-seat chef’s table, also opened, paying tribute to the original Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, which has maintained three Michelin stars for 23 years.
