As part of its efforts to reset its international business, M&S has strengthened its global leadership team with three new senior appointments.
Manish Kapoor joins M&S from Pepe Jeans as the new managing director for M&S India. Victoria Jones, previously with Clarks, takes on the role of commercial director, international, while Richard Davies has been promoted to international partnerships director, having previously served as head of category for brands at M&S.
All three new appointees will report to Mark Lemming, the managing director of international, who was appointed last year as part of M&S's strategic reset and shift in priorities for its International business under fresh leadership.
Mark’s remit is to reset the International business by building strong foundations for future growth through capital-light partnerships and a multi-platform online business. Over time, this reset will create greater opportunities to leverage the strength, expertise, and trusted brand of M&S UK to expand its global reach.
Building a strong leadership team with global experience is a key element of the reset and the future growth plan for M&S's international business.
Lemming commented: “The reset of our international business is focussed on taking the right time and actions to build strong foundations for sustainable growth. Building an experienced global leadership team is an essential element of this plan and Manish, Victoria and Richard will play important roles, bringing fresh perspectives on our International reset and future growth strategy.
“As we continue to progress with our strategy, I remain confident in the medium and long term opportunity for M&S to drive global growth.”
Manish will join the M&S international leadership team in April, while Victoria and Richard are already in their respective roles.
