Cabana to dramatically expand portfolio

Brazilian barbecue restaurant and cocktail group, Cabana is planning to dramatically expand its current chain of 9 restaurants by opening five new sites a year for the next three years.

The first of the new restaurants to open is its first North East site which is due to open soon in Newcastle city centre. It is also close to opening its latest site in Manchester where the company is investing £1.5m on a unit in the Corn Exchange.

Cabana serves a menu centred around barbecue skewers, with favourites including its best-selling spicy malagueta chicken and chimichurri-marinated pork, as well as street food dishes, cassava chips and an impressive cocktail list.

The concept was founded by renowned restaurateurs Jamie Barber and David Ponte in 2011, and has since grown to 11 sites, employing around 200 people.
