Wilson Vale is the newest contract caterer to earn B Corp certification, highlighting its dedication to sustainable growth.
The independent schools and workplace restaurant business, acquired by Aramark in 2021, joins operators like Houston & Hawkes and Lettice Events in being recognised for its social and environmental initiatives.
Wilson Vale demonstrated its credentials through measurable commitments aligned with B Corp's pillars: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.
Wilson Vale collaborates with over 300 local suppliers across the UK and takes pride in its strong internal promotion rates, with 93% of the operational support team and 83% of the central leadership team rising through the ranks. Additionally, women make up 50% of the board and 54% of the workforce.
At its Leicestershire headquarters, Wilson Vale has installed a 100-kilowatt solar array, a Daikin heat-pump climate control system, and six electric vehicle charging points. Additionally, it has transitioned its fleet to fully electric cars.
ESG director Graeme Watson said: “This certification is a key milestone in the history of our business. It’s a powerful verification of our commitment to crafting positive change.”
Managing director Melissa Wallbank said: “For our clients, working with a B Corp caterer means partnering with a company that puts sustainability, inclusivity and accountability at the heart of everything we do – delivering not just high-quality food but a service that prioritises people and the planet that can support their own environmental and social credentials.”
