During H1 2025, Sodexo's UK and Ireland division secured new contracts in the government and healthcare sectors.
Sodexo has secured €1 billion (£850 million) in new contracts over the last six months.
This follows a 2.1% organic revenue growth in Europe for Sodexo in H1 2025, driven by new contract wins, increased volume, and price adjustments in its healthcare sector.
Europe's performance fell just short of the global organic revenue growth of 3.5%, with Sodexo attributing the difference to reduced activity in its facilities management services due to the current economic climate.
Group underlying operating profit increased by 6.4%, reaching €651 million (£553 million), while client retention over the past 12 months stood at 93.9%, reflecting softer performance in the second half of last year.
Sodexo UK and Ireland also won several new contracts in H1 2025, including with HMRC in the western region and the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).
The new food and facilities management contracts with ESNEFT grant the French caterer access to two acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich.
Jean Renton, Chief Operating Officer at Sodexo UK and Ireland, stated: 'The UK and Ireland remain crucial to Sodexo's global performance, and I am confident about the future.
Chairwoman and chief executive at Sodexo Sophie Bellon added: “Two weeks ago, we revised our guidance, acknowledging that some of our initial assumptions have not played out at the expected pace. The challenges are concentrated in a few identified areas, and we are strengthening our action plan. Our immediate focus is on execution, restoring performance in these key areas and tightening predictability.
“We are confident in our strategy and the solid fundamentals of our business. Our teams are highly committed to serve our clients and accelerate our development. We are investing in our future in a high-potential market, while continuing to transform the company.”
Sodexo was established by Pierre Bellon in Marseille, France, in 1966 and now operates in 45 countries worldwide.
