Stonegate Group to unveil new beerhall concept in Leeds

Stonegate Group has invested £1 million to its latest leisure venture, Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom, due to open in Leeds later this year.

The UK’s largest pub company, Stonegate Group, operates a diverse portfolio of brands, including Sports Bar & Grill, Slug & Lettuce, Be At One, and Proper Pubs.

Stonegate is transforming a former Walkabout site—acquired by the company in 2016—into Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom. The new venue will provide a more “sociable” experience, featuring live music, all-day dancing, beer hall tables, and live sports.

Located in the city centre, the venue has been described as a “beerhall for cocktail lovers,” drawing its name from the popular margarita cocktail.

This development follows the rise of venues like Albert’s Schloss, which introduced its Bavarian beer hall concept to London for the first time this year.

David McDowall, chief executive of Stonegate Group, said: “In the past few years, the way in which guests socialise has rapidly changed. Going out remains a real priority, but guests are going out at different times and searching for engaging, entertaining venues, and new types of experiences.'

“Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom brings all of that together with a day-to-night experience like no other. It’s a place where everyone is welcome, and anything can happen!”

Stonegate's first Rita’s Beerhall and Ballroom is set to open at the beginning of December.
