Ottolenghi to launch new restaurant in London’s Richmond

Ottolenghi is set to launch a new restaurant in London’s Richmond at the end of the month, featuring an extensive private dining and workplace catering menu.

This follows the restaurant group's successful acquisition of planning permission to open the deli in January 2024, with an estimated cost of up to £2 million.

Ottolenghi Richmond marks the restaurant group’s 11th location, part of a period of rapid expansion, following recent openings in Bicester Village, Oxfordshire, and Geneva.

The menu will feature a selection of bespoke Richmond-inspired dishes, alongside classics like Ottolenghi shakshuka with smoked labneh and grilled focaccia, char-grilled broccoli with chilli and garlic, and roasted aubergine with caponata and herby cashew cream.

The restaurant will also offer an extensive catering menu, perfect for both private dining and workplace events, available for pre-order or delivery through Slerp and Deliveroo.

In recent years, Ottolenghi has hinted at its ambitions to strengthen the foodservice side of its business, targeting both B2B and B2C customers across Greater London.

Last year, the group expanded its event catering services to the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire, following the opening of its Bicester Village location.

The menu includes a variety of items such as salads, breakfast spreads, cakes, pastries, sweet and savory canapés, and even full dinners.

Ottolenghi Richmond was designed by long-time collaborator Alex Meitlis, who has also designed every Ottolenghi location in London, along with the recent Ottolenghi restaurant in Geneva.

Yotam Ottolenghi said: “It took longer than we expected, but we are finally here! In picturesque Richmond, the happiest place to live in London, I hear. I love walking along the river in the summer and I can’t wait to be here in all seasons, get to know the local crowd and feed them some seriously delicious salads and cakes.”

Ottolenghi Richmond is set to open on 26 February.

Founded by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi in 2002, the first Ottolenghi restaurant opened in London’s Notting Hill.
