BrewDog has unveiled a series of leadership changes following the departure of Chief Executive James Arrow.
Arrow, who took over as CEO from founder James Watt last year, is stepping down from his role due to personal reasons.
During his tenure, he led the restructuring of the brewer’s US division and secured a partnership making BrewDog the official beer provider at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
BrewDog stated that Arrow guided the company back to profitability in 2024 after reporting a pre-tax loss of £59.2 million at the end of 2023.
He will pass leadership to James Taylor, the company's new chief executive, who has served as BrewDog's chief financial officer since 2023.
Taylor previously held senior leadership roles at Mayborn, the parent company of Tommee Tippee, as well as at GHD and Anya Hindmarch.
Meanwhile, Lauren Carrol has been appointed as the new chief operating officer.
Carrol joined BrewDog in 2018 and has served as chief marketing officer since 2022, overseeing the launch of beers such as Wingman, Black Heart, and Shore Leave.
BrewDog chairman Allan Leighton said: “James Taylor has been an instrumental leader at BrewDog, steering the financial strategy and laying a strong foundation for profitable growth.
“His deep understanding of our business, coupled with his proven track record in operational excellence, makes him the ideal choice to guide BrewDog into its next chapter. I would also like to congratulate Lauren for her promotion, testament to her fantastic work and proven track record during her time at BrewDog.
“Finally, I would like to thank James Arrow for his contribution to BrewDog since he arrived in 2023 and wish him every success in the future.”
BrewDog was founded in 2007 by James Watt and Martin Dickie. The company employs over 2,700 people and operates 120 bars, hotels, and venues globally.
