Florence Mae Maglanoc, co-founder of Maginhawa Group, has departed the business to launch her first bakery under her new bakery brand, 1996 Group.
In 2019, Maglanoc co-founded Maginhawa Group with Omar Shah, which was behind popular Filipino-inspired concepts like Bintang and the ice cream parlour Mamasons in Camden, as well as Donia in Carnaby, which debuted in late 2023 and earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Having departed from the business, Maglanoc is now set to open a second Panadera's bakery in Soho—an endeavor she has dreamed of for many years—under her new brand, 1996 Group.
The Filipino bakery, which initially operated in Kentish Town, has since relocated to Marylebone.
The new Panadera’s will feature a larger space and offer a range of dishes, including the Longanisa Sausage Roll, filled with sweet Filipino sausage, and the Ube Pan Suisse.
The space will also occasionally transform into an evening venue for 1996 Group's supper clubs, private chef's table dinners, and brand collaborations curated by Maglanoc.
Maglanoc will also retain ownership of Donia, which will introduce a weekday lunch menu starting next month.
Panadera's Soho is set to open on 26th April.
