North West pub company Blind Tiger Inns has secured its 20th pub lease with Star Pubs, expanding its portfolio to 22 locations.
Star and Blind Tiger are undertaking a joint £150,000 refurbishment of The Stanley Arms on Lancaster Road in central Preston, with plans to reopen it in late November. The renovation will create 10 new jobs and transform the historic Grade II listed pub into a premium social venue, featuring sports and entertainment, alongside an extensive drinks selection.
The refurbishment will overhaul the exterior of the building, highlighting its character and improving the local area. New café-style seating, along with a new awning, signage, and lighting, will enhance The Stanley Arms’ stylish appearance.
The interior of The Stanley Arms will undergo a dramatic makeover, preserving features like the original fireplace and paneling, while blending them with modern décor. The transformation will include stripped timber floors, striking tile work, and hand-painted murals. High-spec screens will display Sky, TNT, and pay-per-view sports channels, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems will create an exceptional atmosphere for evening entertainment. The Stanley Arms will be a drinks-only venue, offering a wide selection that includes premium beers, wines, spirits, cocktails, and coffee.
This project marks the fifth investment Blind Tiger Inns has made this year and the second to be completed in November. The company recently opened The Grosvenor, an 800-capacity venue in a former cinema in Manchester.

We invest in a five-year cycle at all our venues and get a return on the new interest it generates from consumers. 2024 has been a strong year for both our community and city / town centre pubs. We’ve built up a sustainable business and a great team. Despite the challenges facing the industry, we are keen to expand in 2025 if the right opportunities become available.”
