Building starts on third Dakota Hotel site

Construction work has just begun in the centre of Leeds on a new 10-storey hotel for Malmaison creator Ken McCulloch, which will be operated by Dakota Hotels.

The £12m investment involves the demolishment of the 1970s car park on Greek Street and the Arkbar’s restaurant building next door.

The new four-star hotel will offer 90-bedrooms and will include a basement level restaurant and a ground floor bar and terrace area.

The main lobby, meeting rooms, lounge area and gym facilities will be located on the first floor with the bedrooms and suites on the floors above. The anticipated opening date is late 2017.

The Dakota Hotel chain operates two hotels in Glasgow and in Edinburgh.
