Bleecker opens largest site today in Westfield London

Cult burger brand, Bleecker has today opened its fourth restaurant, and largest to date, at Westfield London in White City.

Founded by Zan Kaufman in 2012, Bleecker joins a roster of well-known independent brands opening at Westfield London including Pastaio, Pizza Pilgrims and Copper Chimney.

Located in the first-floor dining space The Balcony, Bleecker Westfield will offer the brand’s familiar counter service and communal seating, with a much larger kitchen than at any of its other sites allowing it to serve a higher volume of customers.

The menu will be the same as at Bleecker’s other restaurants in Spitalfields, Victoria and Bloomberg Arcade: six burgers, believed by many to the best in London; regular and sweet potato fries; and a selection of shakes, sodas and beers.

The new site adds nearly 30 team members to Bleecker’s overall total. They will be led by an all-female management team, general managers Anna Czigany and Veronika Ivankova - the latest example of Zan Kaufman’s commitment, when faced with inequality, to “smash the sh*t out of it'.

The opening coincides with Bleecker announcing that their new beef supplier is royal warrant-holder Aubrey Allen, chosen after extensive tasting, testing and product development. Bleecker’s other sites and food truck have gradually switched to using Aubrey Allen over the past few months, and the opening of Bleecker Westfield completes the process.

Of the opening, Kaufman said, “This site sees us growing significantly both in terms of our team and our footprint, but Bleecker remains as independent and uncompromisingly committed to the burger as we have always been. I’m proud to see Veronika and Anna take up their roles as GMs in our biggest location to date, in London’s premier shopping location.”
