Rosa’s Thai, the renowned Thai restaurant group co-founded by Chef Saiphin Moore, has just launched Wok School, its new chef-led training programme in the heart of London.
Wok School is a new recruitment initiative designed to train aspiring chefs and provide them with all the skills to pursue a career behind a wok at Rosa’s.
Classes will be taught by Rosa’s Thai’s finest wok masters who have spent years honing their craft at Rosa’s Thai and will pass on their expertise to budding chefs.
Open to candidates of all levels, Wok School provides the best possible training to ensure that students achieve excellent skills and confidence in wok cookery.
Whether already confident in the kitchen or a complete beginner, Wok school will set up candidates with the key tools to pursue a career in hospitality, with a guaranteed full-time chef role at Rosa’s for each applicant upon completion of the course.
There are three programmes of 3, 5 and 10 days which candidates can take part in depending on their existing experience on application, and all participants will be paid £11.45 per hour (inc. service charge) for the duration of the course.
Wok School is located in a dedicated space on the lower ground floor of Rosa’s Thai’s Warren Street restaurant, and will welcome guests to enjoy a reduced menu of Rosa’s Thai classic dishes at a discounted price, giving candidates a real life experience of a career at Rosa’s Thai from day one.
Open to diners Monday to Friday, 12-3pm, the menu will change daily according to the training programme and will include dishes such as Rosa’s Classic Pad Thai, Red Thai Curry and Chilli and Basil Stir Fry, all priced at 50% off the standard Rosa’s menu.
Guests will be encouraged to offer feedback to help all candidates gain the most they can from the scheme. Rosa’s Thai Warren Street will continue to serve the full menu in the upstairs restaurant for those customers who would like other dishes.
Gillian Lambden, People Director, said, “Rosa’s is dedicated to providing the best training and development to our teams to empower them to earn as they learn. We are extremely excited about the launch of the Rosa’s Wok school as it provides opportunities for promotion for internal team members as well as our new recruits.”
