Monica Pool has been appointed chief marketing officer of KFC UK & Ireland and will be starting the role in early autumn.
Formerly, Pool served as the Marketing Director at Taco Bell UK & Europe, where she joined the company in 2020. During her time there, she played a pivotal role in enhancing the brand's presence and streamlining the franchisee model.
Pool's professional journey also includes a prior engagement with KFC, which began at KFC South Africa in 2009. Subsequently, she transitioned to KFC UK & Ireland's marketing team in 2012, steadily rising to the role of Marketing Director.
In this new role, Pool takes over from Jenny Packwood, who temporarily held the position of Interim Chief Marketing Officer and concurrently serves as KFC's Chief Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Officer.
Commenting on her appointment, Pool said: 'I'm honoured to be rejoining KFC UK & Ireland to partner with our incredible teams, franchisees and restaurant leaders. It's an exciting time as we continue our journey to evolve the brand experience to deliver industry-leading results, all while making a positive impact on the communities we serve.
Meghan Farren, general manager at KFC UK & Ireland, added: 'I am excited to partner with her as we lead KFC through its next chapter, and I have no doubt that she will drive positive change across the business on her return.'
Colonel Harland Sanders first opened KFC in Utah in 1952. It has since expanded to over 900 restaurants across the UK and Ireland.
