The team behind the popular AngloThai restaurant concept will open their eagerly anticipated first permanent London location this autumn.
Husband and wife duo John and Desiree Chantarasak have secured their first permanent location on Seymour Place in Marylebone.
The restaurant will open with the support of MJMK Restaurants, the group behind Casa do Frango, Nuno Mendes’ Lisboeta, and Santiago Lastra’s Michelin-starred Kol restaurant.
AngloThai's first permanent location has been eagerly awaited since the Chantarasaks began running a series of pop-ups and residencies in 2018. Over the years, several potential sites have fallen through.
Their new Marylebone restaurant will accommodate 50 diners and feature the signature cuisine inspired by Chef John’s Thai and British heritage.
John’s background includes experience at renowned Thai restaurants Nahm in Bangkok and Som Saa in London, while sommelier Desiree has worked at independent wine bars throughout central London.
Guests can choose from a daily changing menu or à la carte dishes, featuring ingredients such as Carlingford oysters, British caviar, and Hebridean sheep from Desiree’s family farm in Dorset.
The menu will also include British-grown herbs and Asian produce such as holy basil, young ginger root, makrut, citrus, and chillies.
The wine selection will primarily feature European options, and a private dining space named Baan, meaning 'home' in Thai, will open later in the year.
