One of the UK’s top forecourt operators, EG Group is to submit plans to build a 24-hour service station and drive-thru coffee shop in Derby, with the creation of up to 80 jobs.
The company has acquired a 3.5-acre plot at Pride Park, which is directly opposite Pride Park Stadium, the home ground of Football League club Derby County.
The petrol station and drive-thru coffee shop would only use up part of the site. A spokesman for the frim said further outlets could be built in the future “if the market is right”.
EG Group’s partner brands include Starbucks, Subway, Greggs, KFC, Sainsbury’s, SPAR, Shell, BP, Burger King and ESSO.
Tom Jeremiah, senior planning manager at EG Group, said, “This site is ideally located for a petrol filling station and drive-thru coffee shop. It is central to an area that supports the motor industry, with high-spec car showrooms nearby, and hosts large events that bring people from across the city and further afield.'
