On 7 March, popular restaurant group Rosa’s Thai will open its much-anticipated Cardiff restaurant - its first in Wales - on Church Street.
Rosa’s Thai first opened in London’s Spitalfields in 2008 under celebrated Thai chef Saiphin Moore and her entrepreneur husband Alex, bringing Saiphin’s vibrant and fresh Thai dishes to London’s East End. The launch of Rosa’s Thai Cardiff marks the 26th opening for the group, which currently holds sites in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool.
The 76-cover restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, bringing Rosa’s Thai’s modern Thai cooking to Wales for the first time.
Guests to the new Cardiff restaurant can expect Rosa’s Thai’s signature dishes made using the best of Thai produce, including chilli pastes from a husband and wife team in the Huai Yod district and rice noodles from a 3rd generation family business that has made noodles for over 80 years.
Menu highlights include familiar Thai dishes including fiery drunken noodles and comforting massaman curry, as well as Rosa’s cult favourites from red curry with pineapple to stir-fried aubergine with yellow bean sauce, chilli, soy sauce & sweet basil.
Vegetarians and vegans will also be well-catered for with plenty of meat-free options, from fluffy sweetcorn cakes with kaffir lime to rich butternut red curry with sweet basil. Rosa’s Thai also offers an extensive selection of gluten-free and halal dishes, making Rosa’s a welcoming, go-to environment for all dietary requirements.
Of the launch, CEO Gavin Adair said, “Opening in Cardiff is something we’ve been wanting to do for some time now, so we’re delighted to have finally found the perfect site to showcase Saiphin’s fantastic recipes.”
To celebrate the new site, all diners at Rosa’s Thai Cardiff will be able to enjoy 50% off their food bill on 7 March and 8 March.
