The Grand, York has appointed Adam Dyke as its new General Manager. With over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, Adam’s arrival heralds a new era for the esteemed five-star hotel, celebrated for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Adam Dyke, a seasoned professional in the hospitality industry, brings a wealth of experience from various prestigious roles. Most recently, he was Group Operations Director at Luxury Family Hotels, where he refined his expertise in luxury service and leadership. Prior to that, he spent nearly four years as Operations Director at Artfarm, overseeing a unique art, education, and community-focused organisation, which broadened his skills across different facets of hospitality. His impressive career also includes leadership positions at renowned establishments such as Chewton Glen, The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey, and Wynyard Hall Hotels.

Commenting on his new role, Adam Dyke said: “The Grand, York has a reputation for excellence in service and its dedication to creating memorable guest experiences. I’m thrilled to join the award-winning team. I look forward to building on the hotel’s remarkable legacy and leading it into an exciting future.

“Starting this new position at The Grand feels like coming home. Having lived in Yorkshire since I was 13, I haven’t worked in the county for some years now, and I can’t wait to meet the team, get back to my roots and the unique and fantastic Yorkshire hospitality scene.”

Adam joins The Grand with a wealth of accolades, including his recognition as a Master Innholder and his recent honor of becoming a Freeman of the City of London.

Adam is also proud of his track record in leading hotels to success, notably achieving the prestigious Hotel of the Year award at the Cateys for The Fife Arms.
