John Lewis Partnership appoints new CFO

The John Lewis Partnership, owner of Waitrose, has appointed Andy Mounsey as its new permanent chief financial officer (CFO).

Mounsey initially stepped into the CFO role on an interim basis last autumn, following the resignation of Bérangère Michel, who left the business last April after 16 years.

Mounsey has been with the retailer for more than 13 years, during which he has held several senior finance positions, including group finance and strategy director. A chartered accountant, he previously spent 12 years at global accounting firm EY, advising major listed clients across the consumer sector worldwide.

“I’m honoured and excited to take on the role of chief financial officer at such a transformative time for the Partnership,” said Mounsey.

“We’re seeing solid progress in our key financial metrics and continued improvements in customer sentiment. The Partnership is in strong financial health and stepping up investment this year for customers and partners.

“I look forward to working with the entire team to build on this progress and ensure the long-term financial strength of our unique business.”

Partnership chairman Jason Tarry added: “Andy’s contribution as interim CFO has been invaluable, and it’s great to have him as part of the team.”
