Dinner Ladies appointed caterer for St Albans Cathedral in second major contract win

London-based catering company Dinner Ladies has secured its second major exclusive contract, this time to provide catering services at St Albans Cathedral.

Dinner Ladies, founded by Emily Plunket and Lily Cai, will take charge of the Abbots Kitchen café at the attraction, manage event catering, and launch a new outdoor coffee service on the cathedral grounds.

This latest win adds to Dinner Ladies’ growing portfolio of exclusive contracts, joining the historic Apothecaries’ Hall in London’s Square Mile.

Plunket said: “We are absolutely delighted to be part of such a significant and historic landmark. We cannot wait to bring our creativity and passion for food to St Albans Cathedral.

“Our aim is to make the café and event spaces a welcoming hub for members of the congregation, locals and visitors alike, while also introducing a series of engaging public events for everyone to enjoy.”

Alan Hartwell, chief operating officer of St Albans Cathedral, said: “Dinner Ladies bring a refreshing approach to dining, and we are confident their innovative and vibrant offerings will appeal to members of the congregation, locals and day visitors, while helping us attract a wider audience.'

Dinner Ladies evolved from a successful supper club concept, that saw Plunket and Cai serve 'playfully punchy Asian-inspired menus'.

Cai added: “As we celebrate our 10th anniversary this May, we are incredibly proud of how our dedicated team and evolving business model have brought us to this exciting new chapter. We are looking forward to the next decade of delicious milestones and continued success.”
