Alexander Stadium catering contract won by Elior

Elior UK has revealed a new partnership with Birmingham City Council to manage catering services at the Alexander Stadium.

The caterer will oversee all operations at Alexander Stadium, which was recently renovated for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, including match-day concessions, corporate hospitality, and event catering.

Dave Wagg, Head of Sport and Physical Activity at Birmingham City Council, stated: “Alexander Stadium is central to Birmingham’s sporting and cultural identity, and we are dedicated to providing outstanding experiences for everyone who visits.”

“Partnering with Elior UK is a key step in ensuring our catering services reflect the world-class standards of the stadium itself. We look forward to seeing the impact of their innovative and customer-focused approach.”

Elior's commitment to sustainability was a key factor in securing the contract. The company's goals to reduce food waste, support local suppliers, and provide diverse menus aligned perfectly with Birmingham City Council's sustainability objectives.

The managing director of Stadia at Elior UK Craig Stewart said: “The role of hospitality and catering is evolving in stadia, and we are pleased to be pivotal in redefining services at Birmingham City Council’s Alexander Stadium.

“Our values are intrinsically aligned when it comes to quality, provenance and sustainability, and we are looking forward to elevating the hospitality service offering and creating memorable experiences for guests.”
