Plans approved for Grove of Narbeth expansion

The luxury Welsh hotel, Grove of Narberth, has received planning permission to expand its guest room capacity and introduce new back-of-house facilities for staff.

The plans for the hotel's expansion were initially submitted to Pembrokeshire County Council in autumn 2021 and received approval last week on 25 February.

Neil Kedward, founder and CEO of the Seren Collection, expressed his excitement over securing planning permission for the “important extension” at the beloved Grove of Narberth, stating that the team was “thrilled” by the approval.

He said: “It’s a small but significant project, adding a touch more scale to our accommodation offering, whilst most importantly upgrading our staff areas to better reflect the ambition and rising standards in the hotel.

“We can now start to plan the build in the coming years with some confidence. For those who know the property the extension will be at the back of the new wing – so it will have little or no impact on the historic house façade that defines this special house set in the rolling Narberth Hills.”

The hotel, part of the family-run Seren Collection, has received two Catey awards—Hotel of the Year in 2022 and Front of House Team of the Year in 2021. Additionally, it was one of only three hotels in Wales to earn a Michelin Key at Michelin's inaugural Michelin Keys presentation ceremony in London last autumn.
