Inception Group will temporarily close its Bunga Bunga bar and restaurant in Covent Garden for several months to undergo a significant refurbishment.
The immersive Italian venue will close on 5 April for a complete transformation, including a redesign, a new narrative, and revamped spaces, before reopening.
Since opening in 2016, Bunga Bunga has become known for its metre-long pizzas, karaoke brunches, and live shows.
Upon reopening, Bunga Bunga will feature more interactive elements, a signature style of Inception Group, which also operates the immersive 1940s-inspired bar, Cahoots.
Charlie Gilkes, co-founder of Inception Group, said: “We are hugely excited to announce the next iteration of Bunga Bunga.
“We have been open and trading in this location for nearly 10 years and so now is the right time to revitalise this fantastic Covent Garden site.
“This is not just a substantial refurbishment though, as for the first time we are taking one of our brands and giving all aspects of the product, design and narrative a complete overhaul. We cannot wait to open the doors again later this year and to show our guests what we have created.”
Founded in 2009 by Gilkes and Duncan Stirling, Inception Group has expanded to 15 experiential venues across London, including the Victorian-themed Mr Fogg's bars.
Inception Group's latest venue, Cahoots: Post Office, opened in London Bridge last year, featuring unique attractions like singing toilets and robotic pigeons.
In 2023, Inception Group secured a £6.7 million loan from OakNorth Bank to support its expansion. The group stated that additional details about the revamped Bunga Bunga would be revealed in due course.
